Invitation to our Dressage Competition

Dressage competition

Saturday November 28th

Starting from 10:00am in a 20m x 40m arena.

Class 1 = Walk and Trot Introductory level (2006)
Class 2 = Beginner Novice Test A (2006)
Class 3 = Novice Test A (2006)

arena 20m x 60m
Class 4 = Reprise 1A (1998)
Class 5 = Preliminary for 5 year olds (2009)
Class 6 = Reprise 2D Caballos de 5 anos FEI (1998)
Class 7 = Preliminary for 6 year olds (2009)

Lunch will be held at 13:30 with a Natural Horsemanship demonstration at 14:00 - 15:00. Classes commence again at 15:15

Entry per class = 8€

Rosettes for 1st - 6th place, Each winner receives a special bag of Baileys horse feed as a treat for their horse!

Winners of Classes 5,6 & 7 will qualify for the Christmas Show on Dec 26th!

Is moving along nicely and below I have included the latest events
that we have added to our calender.

For publicity of these events please send me your email address so I can send you the power point flyers.

Schedules can be found in our EVENTS section.

The calender looks like this at the moment...

Nov 28th Dressage competition

Dec 4th DVD evening for Natural horsemanship (free if you pay for the course on this evening otherwise 6€, you don't have to come on the course to enjoy this evening)
Dec 5th Full training day for the Natural Horsemanship course (most likely - 7 games and bomb proof your horse) - full day training with lunch, up to 8 can bring their own horse = 100€, spectators - whole day & lunch = 30€
Dec 12th Handy Pony & Gymkhana
Dec 26th Christmas Show

A note to members .....

If you bring 10 spectators with you, YOU come for free!

Do let us know what you CAN & WILL make ASAP, in case we need to change dates so that everyone can come!

Remember we are holding these events for YOU, so please contact me with your information - if you can't make events as you are going to another event please let me know, as we maybe able to change the date accordingly!

We hope we are filling some gaps within the horse world on the costa, there should be something for everyone to participate in. If you have any opinions/ ideas of what you would like to see as an event here at Hinttworld, please feel free to email me!

Halloween Fancy Dress Show Jumping Competition!

Halloween Show Jumping Competition!

Grab your scary togs and dress your horse to join us for our fancy dress.....

Halloween Show Jumping Competition on Saturday Oct 31st!

You are welcome to hire a horse for jumping up to a maximum height of 40cm! Please contact us to book your horse. Those hiring horses should arrive early so that you can prepare (clean the horse, plait up, clean tack etc…) and dress yourselves and your horse!

Clear round jumping using our horses 12€ per round.

Clear Round Jumping Competition

from 10:00am onwards for :-

• Poles on the ground – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
• 20cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
• 40cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
• 60cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds

Clear round jumping + jump off competition

from 12:00am finishing before lunch for
• 80cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
• 1m – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds

All clear rounds for 80cm and 1m will go into the same jump off that will range between 80cm and 1m in height = Group A = 6€ (to enter the jump off round) rosettes from 1st - 6th place.

LUNCH TIME from 14:00 – 16:00 enjoy our BBQ along with our Natural Horsemanship Talk and Demo between 14:30 & 15:30!

Clear round jumping + jump off competition

from 16:00pm onwards for
•   1.10cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
•   1.20cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds
•   1.30cm – 6€ per round, rosettes for clear rounds

All clear rounds for 1.10cm to 1.30cm will go into the same jump off that will range between 1.10cm and 1.30cm in height = Group B = 6€ (to enter the jump off round) rosettes from 1st - 6th place.

We will also have two ‘Halloween Winners’ for the best fancy dressed spectator & competitor!

Entry for the day is 1€

Pony rides
will be available for beginner children (and adults!)
during the afternoon!

Candice's Crohns cure blog

Hi All,

I wanted to let you all know that I have have launched a Crohns cure blog! www.crohnscure.blogspot.com

Unfortunately I have been a crohns sufferer for over 12 years and I have hit a very low point where my flair up is debilitating. However I want to share with those of you who are interested, maybe you have Crohns or maybe you know some one who has Crohns? I want to share with you my growing stages of controlling this flair up and then curing my self of Crohns.

I have many great findings which make a good read even if you don't have Crohns but feel that you want more out of your life, that you know life should be more enjoyable and rewarding but just can't seem to grasp onto your life!

The weekend course in Ronda and meeting the Paso Fino Horses

So off i went on Friday 23rd of March 2007. Driving inland from Alhaurin El Grande to Ronda. What a beautiful road! At this time of year the scenery is breathtaking. As far as the eye can see there are rolling hills and diverse mountains, cliff edges and valleys. A true farmers land where growing crops are the cause of the green carpets, a dream for us riders, all i could see was how fabulous the land looks to ride on, great canters!

Driving along i realise that we have just passed Carratraca. This is a village right in the middle of this beautiful country side AND it is also the destination of the excursion on April 15th! This is a MUST for all you horse lovers who live on the Costa Del Sol.

Back to the road. Stopping for a quick coffee well actually i had tea, manzanilla to be precise! We then had around 15 minutes left before we would enter Ronda's village.

I had been following a friend Enrique Munoz, he knows Ronda well and is also on the Dressage Judges course, He is in fact the head of the dressage league with ACECOS. Parking outside the village so as to only park one car in Ronda. We parked near the bull ring and also near the hotel Enrique was booked into.

We had only a short while before we had to start the course. Today's part of the course was the Theory, we were all in a very old function cross library room, situated within the same building as the famous bull ring of Ronda. The course organisers and speakers where on a central table with a white board to the left and a flat TV to the right! Their table was covered with a lovely red velvet cloth with gold braid piping!

Moving on!!

So we covered everything in relation to the theory of equitation. Walk, trot and canter, with all the lateral movements and advanced dressage movements. We also covered various rules in relation to the equitation.

That evening Enrique and i went for a lovely dinner and i picked his brain for translations of what i didn't understand. Bearing in mind i am not fluent in Spanish - i haven't even had one lesson! So as you can imagine this course and exam is really putting my attention and concentration to the test!

After dinner i had planned to stay with a dear friend who owns Paso Finos. In fact Wendy is the sole importer of Paso Finos in Spain AND she was the first to import them into the UK (before she decided to move over here and settle down with her own breeding yard in Ronda)

So Wendy kindly picked me up from Ronda and then we had to find my car! Silly me, we drove straight passed my car and out the other side of Ronda looking for it! Once found (after 20 Min's of driving in the wrong direction) I jumped into my freezing cold car, for some reason that evening the temperature had dropped rapidly. So with the heater on full blast I followed Wendy back to her place She and Martin are renting until their breeding yard is finished.

After a nice cup of tea and a quick catch up we all went off to bed. I awoke early as usual and i leaped up to have a nice shower before my judging day began!

Arriving in Ronda i picked up Enrique out side the bull ring. Today is the practical equitation. We drove down through the village to a lovely stables owned by ............. He has a few students who pay huge amounts to train with him and the horses used are those that top studs and breeders send to him for training, competing and selling. Riders here enjoy top tuition on top horses and all in the wonderful setting on Ronda. A truly beautiful place, a cross between a large city like Madrid, with the fabulous old architecture and cobbled streets with phenomenal scenery sneaking a look in at the end of every street! The ambiance is very friendly and in my opinion is distinctive to Ronda. All the restaurants we ate in served great food and all in all i think Ronda is one of my favourite places to visit here in Spain!

So back to the course. We started off the practical day with learning how to mark the 3 basic paces, walk, trot and canter. With all of their differences within the pace. Walk includes - collected walk, working walk, medium walk, extended walk and free walk. Trot includes - collected trot, working trot, medium trot and extended trot. Canter includes - collected canter, working canter, counter canter, medium canter and extended canter. To judge this we were shown a movement maybe with a transition and asked to score the movement, we had printed numbers which we held up so that the course leader could see a sea of numbers! Ones that stood out for being too high or too low were picked out and the candidate had to explain why they gave that score!

We then loved onto lateral movements......
